Dr Mellisha Padayatchi qualified in Medicine at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.
Dr Padayatchi qualified in psychiatry in England and is a Consultant Psychiatrist with over 15 years clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of common and complex mental health conditions. Dr Padayatchi has both trained and practised in psychiatry at a number of influential NHS hospitals in London.
Dr Padayatchi’s ethos is to put her patients at the centre of her clinical practice and she aims to work closely with her patients offering choices in ensuring that the path to recovery is as speedy as possible and is sustained over time, and preventing as much disability as possible. Dr Padayatchi uses the biopsychosocial model to ensure her patients are treated in a holistic manner.
Treatment plans are formulated with the input of patients and encompass medication, psychological treatments (NICE recommended)and physical health investigations. Dr Padayatchi works closely with other health professionals, including psychologists and therapists to ensure patients have access to a wide range of expertise, in order that treatment plans are inclusive and based on individual patient’s clinical needs.

Dr Padayatchi is registered and licensed with the General Medical Council, is Section 12 Approved and is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Dr Padayatchi is also a Clinical Tutor and is the Lead Clinician in her current NHS post.
